It has been confirmed! We all kinda knew though, right? ALDI has come out on top in a recent study, solidifying their spot as Australia’s cheapest supermarket!

Data from consumer group Choice on supermarket prices found that, in the last quarter, Woolies prices had gone UP, prices at Coles have gone down, and ALDI, even though it came out on top as the cheapest option for consumers, also had a decrease in prices!

The research revealed that an average basket of 14 common household items (very specific), at Woolworths those items came to $68.37, the same items came to $66.22, and (similar items, same quantity) came to $50.79. IGA was the most expensive, coming to a whopping $78.95!

In case you’re curious, the 14 items included in Choice’s basket of goods was apples, carrots, Weet-Bix, sliced white bread, flour, penne pasta, sugar, tea bags, tasty cheese, milk, frozen peas, beef mince and butter.
