With the release of the new Celine Dion documentary fans are realising there is much to learn about the much-adored singer. Including, her very wholesome friendship with John Farnham!
In the documentary Celine recounts the moment she fell in love with the Aussie, saying that the first time she heard his voice it was “incredible and so emotional.”
“I did not discover John Farnham, but I wished I did. But when I heard John Farnham, I was flipping because he had a power that broke the radio… When I first heard John his voice was incredible and so emotional.”
In the documentary we see a clip of the duo singing ‘Your The Voice’ together, a dream of Dion’s.

“I never thought that I was going to sing it with him,” she said.

In the documentary Celine opens up about her health struggles, and how their friendship has been so meaningful to her during a tough time. “It’s prophetic that I performed ‘the Voice’ with him, then I lost my voice,” Dion said.

“He’s one of my favorite singers of all time. And I just will never forget the gift that he gave me (of singing it).”

“I tell you that, when I’m back on stage and I sing ‘Help,’ it will be for you, John, for sure. Thank you for that gift.”
