Sadly, Coldplay singer Chris Martin has confirmed this week that Coldplay will be retiring after their 12th studio album, to be released in 2025.

While the news is upsetting, it doesn’t come as too much of a shock as Martin had already hinted at the bands retirement, stating “Our last proper record will come out in 2025, and after that, I think we will only tour.”

“Maybe we’ll do some collaborative things but the Coldplay catalogue, as it were, finishes then,” Martin said.

The good news is, they will still be around! But sadly, there will be no new music after the release of their final studio album.

In happier news, Coldplay’s 10th album, Moon Music, released today! So go have a listen while you absorb the news!
