Barnesy is set to make a triumphant return to the stage after undergoing open heart surgery late last year.

Last year, the iconic Australian rocker faced a health scare when he was hospitalised in late November due to bacterial pneumonia, followed by complications including staphylococcal bacteraemia and endocarditis, which required urgent heart surgery on December 13.

After more than eight weeks of recovery, during which Barnes shared updates on his progress via social media, he has received medical clearance to resume his touring schedule.

Expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support during his illness, Barnesy is eager to reconnect with fans.

The comeback kicks off with a special appearance at Bluesfest Byron Bay over the Easter long weekend, commemorating the 30th anniversary of ‘Flesh and Wood’.

Barnes’ seventh solo album, ‘Flesh and Wood’ achieved significant success upon its release in December 1993, with hits such as “The Weight” and “You Can’t Make Love Without A Soul.” Following Bluesfest and a string of rescheduled Red Hot Summer Tour shows, he’ll embark on his intimate “Hell of a Time” regional theatre tour.

The “Hell of a Time” tour promises an up-close-and-personal experience, with Barnes sharing anecdotes and performing stripped-back versions of his beloved songs.

Tickets for the “Hell of a Time” Tour go on sale on Monday, February 19.

Additionally, a limited edition vinyl reissue of ‘Flesh and Wood’ is available for pre-order, personally signed by the man himself, commemorating three decades since its release.
