Nicole Kidman has spilled the beans. The actress has eluded to a third season of “Big Little Lies” during a Ladies Professional Golf Association Q&A event at the CME Group Tour Championship in Naples.
Expressing her love for the series, Kidman reflected on how “Big Little Lies” came into her life at a pivotal moment, initially contemplating retirement before the opportunity arose with Reese Witherspoon to produce and create the show. Kidman acknowledged the massive success of the series and then dropped the bombshell, “And we will be bringing you a third one, just FYI.”
Fans have been eagerly anticipating the return of the Monterey Five, featuring Kidman, Witherspoon, Laura Dern, Zoe Kravitz, and Shailene Woodley. The star-studded drama, originally conceived as a limited series in 2017, earned eight Emmy Awards and returned for a second season in 2019, with the addition of Meryl Streep to the cast.
There has been scepticism from cast members about a potential third season, especially after the passing of director Jean-Marc Vallée. Kravitz said in a TikTok video last year “I don’t think it is [returning], We talked about doing a season three a lot and, unfortunately, Jean-Marc Vallée, our incredible director, passed away this last year and I just can’t imagine going on without him.”
The news has reignited excitement for the continuation of the captivating tale of the high-powered yet troubled moms in Monterey, California. Hopefully, this means we can get ready for more lies, drama, and intrigue in the highly anticipated “Big Little Lies” season three!
