Probably not, BUT there are two people really keen to try and bring the big mouse down under!
Speaking to the Herald Sun, Melbourne Lord Mayor Sally Capp said their city would be the perfect place for Mickey and his friends to set up shop: “As Australia’s capital city of fun, of course we should have a Disney theme park in Melbourne. We’ve even got the perfect spot for it – Fishermans Bend”. Pretty sure Australia’s capital city of fun isn’t on their numberplates but it’s a pretty good pitch.
Further North there’s a giant block of land near Avalon Airport which certainly has enough room to build another ‘Most Magical Place On Earth’. The airport’s chairman David Fox already confirming an entertainment precinct has been earmarked for the spot according to News.com.au “There’s an entertainment precinct that we’ve defined. I wouldn’t say (for a) Disneyland at this moment in time, but anything is possible.”
